Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a prominent youth advocate and rising figure in Nigeria’s political scene, has clarified his plans ahead of the 2027 general elections. He revealed that while he may not personally run for office in Ogun State, the Ajadi Movement is positioned to play a major role in deciding the outcome.
Speaking with journalists on Monday after meeting with political stakeholders across the South-West, Ajadi said the movement has grown far beyond his personal ambitions and has become a strong political force with support across Ogun State and the country.
“I may not contest in Ogun State,” he said, “but the Ajadi Movement will stand at the centre of the party that will take victory in 2027 — take it or leave it.”
A Movement Beyond One Man
What started as a youth-led civic advocacy group has quickly developed into a broad political network with coordinators in every local government in Ogun State and active supporters nationwide.
Its focus on civic engagement, community empowerment, and welfare-driven politics has attracted thousands of young Nigerians who are tired of old political practices.
Political analysts now describe the Ajadi Movement as one of the most organised grassroots structures in Ogun State, with growing influence in parts of the North and South-East. Many believe it has the strength to swing victory for whichever political platform it eventually supports.
Ajadi said consultations are ongoing among leaders of the movement across the country. The final decision on which party to back, he noted, will depend on which platform truly prioritises youth inclusion, economic reforms, and transparent leadership.
“We are not selling our mandate to the highest bidder,” he stressed. “We will only support a party that is ready to transform Ogun State and Nigeria — a party that understands that young people must be at the centre of decision-making.”
Beyond 2027 Ambition
Ajadi emphasized that the movement’s mission goes beyond his own political future.
“This movement is bigger than one person,” he said. “Whether I am on the ballot or not, the Ajadi Movement will influence who leads. People trust us, and we intend to honour that trust.”
He also urged young Nigerians to stay politically alert and refuse to be used for violence or manipulation.

Beyond his activities in Ogun State, Ajadi has become increasingly involved in national discussions on youth empowerment, restructuring, and unity. His rising profile, particularly in Oyo State, has led to speculation that he may pursue a federal role or even consider running for governor in his father’s home state in 2027.
For now, Ajadi says the priority is building a political structure strong enough to shape leadership choices at both state and national levels.
“We are redefining politics,” he said. “By 2027, Nigerians will see the power of a movement built on integrity, sacrifice, and genuine leadership.”
