President Tinubu to commission key projects during Ogun visit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to visit Ogun State on Saturday for the commissioning and inspection of major infrastructure projects, highlighting the state’s push for economic growth and improved public services.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the visit will feature projects across multiple sectors.
A major highlight is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport, a project aimed at positioning the state as a key aviation and logistics hub. At the airport, the President will also unveil two aircraft under Gateway Air, launched in partnership with ValueJet.
He is also expected to observe a cargo operations demonstration by SAHCOL, signalling readiness for commercial freight activities.
Other assets to be commissioned at the airport include 1,000 electric bikes under the state’s mobility initiative, 80 security vehicles, and a fleet of agricultural tractors to support farming and food production.

Beyond the airport, Tinubu will inaugurate the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, improving access to the new aviation facility and surrounding communities.
He will also inspect the Nigeria Customs Service Village and commission a Forward Operating Base to strengthen border security and trade operations.
The President’s itinerary includes the inspection and commissioning of the Gateway Aviation Village, designed to support the growing aviation ecosystem.
In addition, he will commission the reconstructed Sapade–Ilishan Road, now renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway, expected to enhance connectivity and commercial activity in the area.
The visit will conclude with an inspection of the Sagamu–Benin Road, a major federal project aimed at improving transport along one of the country’s busiest corridors.
These projects reflect the development agenda of the Ogun State Government under Dapo Abiodun, with a focus on infrastructure, economic expansion, and regional connectivity. The visit also underscores collaboration between the federal and state governments in advancing sustainable development.
