The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has reacted to a letter from the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode rejecting Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, also known as K1 De Ultimate, over his claim to the Awujale throne.
Onanuga, who said he is from Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, shared the letter on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. He wrote that the Fusengbuwa Ruling House had rejected KWAM1’s claim to the Awujale throne.
The ruling house’s statement was contained in a letter dated December 11, 2025, and addressed directly to the musician.
In the letter, the ruling house confirmed that it received a family details and lineage form submitted by Wasiu Ayinde. However, it said the form was already signed before he signed it, making it invalid.
According to the ruling house, the form was certified by someone described as a “supposed family unit head,” Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo, two days before the musician signed it. The ruling house said Eruobodo is not an authorised family head and is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House.
The letter added that investigations showed no evidence that Wasiu Ayinde is a member of either the Jadiara Royal House or the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. As a result, the ruling house declared the form invalid and rejected his claim to the Fusengbuwa lineage.
The letter was signed by several leaders of the ruling house and the Jadiara Royal House, including the Chairman, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, and other top family officials.
Also speaking on the issue, the spokesperson of the Fusengbuwa Nomination Committee, Abiodun Ogidan, said during a briefing on Thursday that the musician’s claim to the royal lineage was false.
Ogidan explained that a family meeting was held with all the family heads, and after reviewing the information provided by Wasiu Ayinde, they concluded that he is not a member of the Fusengbuwa ruling house.
He added that Awujale nomination forms were not given to the musician because the nomination process had already closed before he began claiming membership of the family.
Ogidan questioned why the musician was only making the claim now, saying he had never attended family meetings or supported the family in the past.
According to him, Wasiu Ayinde was trying to change history, but the family would not accept anyone with a false lineage into the Awujale selection process.
