TikTok Names BhadBoi OML’s ‘Wasiu Ayinde’ as Nigeria’s Song of the Summer 2025
TikTok has announced ‘Wasiu Ayinde’ by BhadBoi OML as Nigeria’s official Song of the Summer 2025, recognizing it as the track that ruled feeds and sparked countless trends across the platform.
Toyin Mustapha, TikTok’s Head of Music Partnerships for the UK, Ireland, and Sub-Saharan Africa, said in a statement that BhadBoi OML’s album ‘Bhadboi’ gained massive attention for its unique cultural blend.
According to Mustapha, the album beautifully fuses modern pop with traditional Yoruba Fuji elements, showing how Nigerian artists are redefining Afrobeats through authentic sound combinations.

He added that the song’s popularity perfectly reflects the diversity and vibrancy of TikTok’s music scene.
“While Nigerian stars like Davido, Olamide, and Rybeena topped charts with high-energy anthems, the top ten also featured gospel-inspired songs and tracks from other African countries such as South Africa and Uganda that deeply connected with Nigerian audiences,” Mustapha said.
He described TikTok as a platform “where music truly comes to life” — a space where songs are discovered, communities grow, and opportunities for artists expand in new ways.
Mustapha emphasized that TikTok’s Songs of the Summer list highlights the platform’s power in connecting fans, creators, and musicians in real time, shaping trends and culture as they happen.
He also noted that six out of the top ten songs this year were collaborations — a sign that teamwork continues to drive success. Some of the standout tracks include:
- “99” by Olamide, Seyi Vibez, Asake, Young Jonn & Daecolm
- “With You” by Davido & Omah Lay
- “Gaddem” by Rybeena & Shoday
Amapiano’s influence remains strong as well, with “Ngishutheni” by Goon Flavour, Master KG & Eemoh capturing fans across Africa. Meanwhile, emotionally driven songs like Chella’s “My Darling” also found viral moments for their soulful and inspirational appeal.
Mustapha said these songs thrived on TikTok because of their energetic beats and catchy hooks that fueled dance challenges and lifestyle trends, reflecting the creativity and spirit of Nigeria’s youth.
He concluded that beyond rankings, TikTok’s 2025 Songs of the Summer list reinforces the platform’s role as a cultural incubator — one that champions local talent, celebrates diversity, and helps Nigerian music reach global audiences.
