Governor Abiodun Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development Across Ogun State
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has restated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every part of the state benefits from ongoing infrastructure and development projects.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Governor Abiodun emphasized that his government remains focused on delivering balanced growth across all three senatorial districts. He said the state is currently executing major road and infrastructure projects designed to connect communities and support economic development.

According to the governor, several key projects are underway in the Ifo–Sango Ota–Idiroko corridor, including work on four major highways. These include the 140-kilometre Abeokuta–Lagos Expressway — which the state is rehabilitating despite its federal status — and the Sango–Idiroko road, where construction continues steadily.
He also highlighted the completion of more than 22 kilometres of roads linking Ijoko, Agbado, and Alagbole, while the 24-kilometre Ota–Itele–Lafenwa road has been included in the proposed 2026 budget.
Governor Abiodun noted that his administration understands residents’ expectations and right to demand good governance but cautioned the public against misinformation from individuals attempting to exploit the situation for political reasons.
He explained that many of the roads now under reconstruction were already in poor condition before his government came into office in 2019. “We have since turned several of them into active construction sites with visible progress,” the governor said.
He listed ongoing works on key routes such as the Sango–Ijoko–Agbado–Oke Aro–Lambe–Akute road, Sango Ota–Papalanto–Abeokuta highway, and Sango–Idiroko road, noting that most of these projects have achieved over 50 percent completion.
Beyond road construction, Governor Abiodun pointed to other landmark achievements of his administration, including the Gateway International Airport, the new state sports complex, and the establishment of the largest cement factory in West Africa.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment, the governor said:
“We will continue to work tirelessly until every part of Ogun feels the impact of good governance and sustainable development.”
He assured residents that the government’s efforts are geared toward building a modern, connected, and prosperous Ogun State where no community is left behind.
