Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has congratulated Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, describing the victory as a reflection of the people’s trust in his leadership.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun said the outcome of the poll showed that the people of Anambra had spoken “in clear, unmistakable terms,” reaffirming their confidence in Soludo’s administration.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), winner of the governorship election held on Saturday. He secured 422,664 of the 584,054 valid votes cast across the state’s 21 local government areas. His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 99,445 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates received 8,208 and 1,401 votes respectively.

Abiodun, who chairs the Southern Governors’ Forum, congratulated Soludo Vice Chairman of the same forum urging him to stay the course of his development-focused policies and continue delivering good governance to the people of Anambra.
He also called on Soludo to promote unity among political stakeholders in the state for inclusive progress and commended him for maintaining a cordial working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Abiodun encouraged Soludo to keep upholding the principles of democracy and accountable governance, adding that his re-election offers a renewed mandate to deepen development across Anambra State.
