Reggae icon and actor James Chambers, better known as Jimmy Cliff, has died.
The announcement, posted on his official social media pages, said the legendary musician passed away after suffering a seizure followed by pneumonia.
In a statement shared on Facebook, his wife wrote:
“It is with profound sadness that I share that my husband, Jimmy Cliff, has crossed over due to a seizure followed by pneumonia.”
She expressed gratitude to family, friends, fellow artists, and colleagues who supported him throughout his life and career.
“To all his fans around the world, please know that your support was his strength. He truly appreciated every bit of love,” she added.
She also thanked Dr. Couceyro and the medical team for their dedication during his final days.
“Jimmy, my darling, may you rest in peace. I will honour your wishes,” she wrote, requesting privacy for the family during this difficult period.
