The Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative (EFWI) celebrated its second anniversary on Saturday by announcing ambitious plans to construct a 500-bed shelter for homeless families and individuals in Ogun State.
The announcement came during a fundraising dinner held at Pearl School Hall in Magboro, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, EFWI founder Abiola Adeniyi revealed that the project will be financed through partnerships and donations from compassionate Nigerians. “Tonight is our official fundraising dinner,” she said. “We are proposing a shelter that can house 500 people who are currently living on the streets with nowhere to go.”
The facility will be built on three acres of land already acquired in Obafemi Owode LGA, with construction scheduled to begin in December, pending necessary support.
Adeniyi called on federal, state, and local governments to collaborate on the initiative, emphasizing that the shelter will serve only those in genuine need.
The two-day anniversary celebration kicked off on Friday with a table-tennis tournament that drew enthusiastic participation from the community. Cash prizes were awarded to the top five players, with the winner receiving ₦100,000, the runner-up ₦50,000, and third place ₦30,000.

Prince Victor Adeniyi, the foundation’s patron and the founder’s husband, traced the organization’s journey back to 2021, when it began with a small youth empowerment program called “Youth Against Idleness” in Magboro.
“What started as concern for people worried not just about today’s meal but tomorrow’s has grown steadily,” he said. Over the past two years, EFWI has paid rent and school fees for homeless individuals, provided direct aid to the elderly, and supported youth development—all made possible by sponsors and individual donors.
Board director Ademola Oni urged guests to embrace selfless giving. Quoting religious principles, he stressed that the most rewarding acts of charity are those offered anonymously to strangers who can never repay the giver.
Saturday’s program featured music, prayers, cake-cutting, and moving testimonies from people whose lives have been touched by the foundation’s work.
Since its inception, EFWI has focused its outreach on vulnerable residents of Magboro and surrounding communities, offering food, shelter assistance, educational support, and hope to the needy and elderly. With the new shelter project, the organization is poised to expand its impact across Ogun State.
