Heads of public primary and secondary schools in Ogun State have been ordered to always sign attendance register daily.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Segun Odubela gave the order in Abeokuta while monitoring the resumption of public primary and secondary schools across the State for the 2012/2013 academic year.

The Commissioner, who bemoaned a situation whereby it is only teachers that signed the register, observed
that the school heads were not laying good examples for their subordinates to follow.

“You (the school heads) should lead by examples. When you come on time and sign the attendance register accordingly, your staff will have no choice than to come early and do the same thing. No teacher will like his head teacher or principal to sign before him, “Odubela maintained.
