Governor Dapo Abiodun reiterated his commitment to giving priority to the Ogun West Senatorial District in his administration’s socio-economic considerations. He made this statement during a Yewa Division Town Hall meeting in preparation for the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2024 Appropriation Bill, held in Ilaro, the district’s capital.

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasized the importance of Ogun West in the state’s economic development, citing its significant industrial presence as the highest concentration of factories and industrial hubs in Nigeria. He pledged to support existing industries and attract new ones while ensuring a favorable business environment.

Abiodun assured the people of his government’s dedication to addressing their concerns and hardships. The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, explained that the townhall meeting is a platform for governance feedback and citizen engagement. He highlighted the positive impact of previous meetings on policy and budget decisions.
Local leaders and representatives from the region raised various concerns, including road infrastructure and housing provisions. Governor Abiodun promised to address these issues and pointed out the government’s commitment to ongoing infrastructure projects.
The governor also mentioned plans to improve the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway, a major road in the area, to alleviate commuter difficulties. He appreciated the support of local traditional rulers and reiterated his commitment to the development of Ogun West.
