The hit single ‘Calm Down’ by Divine Ikubor, the Nigerian singer better known has Rema, has gone platinum in the United Kingdom.

An album or song that has sold more than 1 million copies is awarded platinum certification.

On Friday, Chart Data announced via Twitter that “Calm Down,” a single released in February 2022 from Rema’s debut album, “Rave and Roses,” has achieved platinum certification in the UK.

The song gained even more popularity when Rema collaborated with US singer Selena Gomez on a remix in August of the same year.

In November 2022, “Calm Down” reached the top 5 of Billboard 200, and its music video became the most-viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube, with over 393 million views. As of March 3, 2023, the remix’s video has over 325 million views.

Barack Obama, the former US president, also featured “Calm Down” on his favorite music list of 2022.

Rema has continued to receive massive support from music fans since he rose to fame, earning several awards and accolades in the process.
