Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun yesterday laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road and promised not to leave the road.
The area is the center of no less than 10 industries in Ogun State.
The governor also opened the Guangdong road along the 10.25 km FTZ Lusada Junction-Igbesa-Ogun, a project implemented as part of a public-private partnership.
Abiodun marked the 19-kilometer Atan-Lusada-Agbara road, saying the start of road renovation work would have a positive impact in facilitating business along industrial corridors.

Although he said the road would be completed in 15 months, the governor said that although the road that is part of the Sokoto-Badaghri Expressway is owned by the federal government, his government has decided to start rebuilding the road to help residents and communities. axis industry.
Abiodun, reiterating that his government will not develop any part of the country at the expense of others, announced that more than 172 km of roads had been built, while 120 km had been rebuilt along and the breadth of Ogun State in two years had belonged to him. administration.
The governor ensured that all roads leading to industrial estates and agricultural settlements in the state would be prioritized in order to promote economic growth and development.
He praised President Muhammad Bukhari, led by the federal government, for quickly approving a request to transfer the rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road to Ogun State.
However, he urged Axis residents to take over the project, revealing that young people in the area would make a profit while building roads.
“Without a doubt, today’s dual events of turning the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road and operating the Lusada-Igbessa road are part of our government’s commitment to providing infrastructure to further open up our border communities along the axis.
“Indeed, this is an explanation of our strategic and conscious approach to moving all our industrial centers to our beloved country. And without a doubt, Ogun West, in particular the Agbara Industrial Area, one of the largest industrial properties in Nigeria, remains key to the development of the Ogun country.
“In this direction, the completion of Atan-Lusada-Agbara, which is expected in the next 15 months, will be of great help in improving the quality of life and the progress of trade in Ogun West and other industrial centers in Ogun.
“And I am very optimistic that the completion of Atan-Lusada-Agbara will not only increase business in this area but also bring good development to the entire West Ogun Regency,” said Abiodun.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Senate Construction Committee Aliyero assured the Ogun government that the committee would ensure that the reconstruction work for the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road was included in the 2022 budget.
The senator noted that the Abiodun-led government deemed it necessary to reconstruct federal government lines out of concern for the state’s population.
Describing the initiative as a symbol of good governance that must be respected, he urged the governor to apply for reimbursement to the central government after the project was completed.
