Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has commended the well-deserved victory of Senator Olamilekan Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, as upheld by the National and State Assemblies Elections Petition Tribunal.
The tribunal, convening in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, affirmed Senator Adeola’s win in the National Assembly election held on February 25. The tribunal’s ruling dismissed the challenge brought by the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Chief Dada Adeleke, citing a lack of merit in his petition.
Governor Abiodun regarded the judgment as a true reflection of the people’s will, as expressed through their votes in the Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship, and House of Assembly elections. He praised the three-man panel of judges for their courage in upholding the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the polls.
Governor Abiodun pledged that his administration would collaborate with all elected representatives at both the national and state levels to ensure the equitable distribution of democratic dividends across all sectors of the state.
