The Nigerian Army conducted a major nationwide operation from November 29 to December 1, 2025, resulting in the deaths of eight terrorists, the arrest of 51 suspects, the rescue of 27 victims, and the seizure of weapons and other illegal items.
According to a statement posted on its X handle on Tuesday, troops in Borno State from the 151st, 152nd, and 192nd Task Force Battalions killed four ISWAP/JAS terrorists. The soldiers also recovered rifles, ammunition, a Baofeng radio, and other military equipment while preventing infiltration attempts around Chibok.
In Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, and Kaduna states, troops under Operation Whirl Stroke and Operation Enduring Peace rescued 20 victims, including women and children. They also arrested suspected kidnappers, human traffickers, extremists, illegal miners, cultists, and a gunrunner.
The statement added that in Taraba, four violent extremists were killed, with weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles seized. In Delta State, two cultists were arrested, and a locally made pistol and mobile phones recovered. Security forces also recovered 76 rustled cattle in Plateau State.
In the South-South region, authorities shut down an illegal oil refining site and arrested 25 drug suspects during joint operations with the NDLEA. In Kaduna State, troops intercepted vehicles carrying explosives, detonators, and fuses, triggering further investigations. Notorious gunrunner Shuaibu Isah, also known as Alhaji, was arrested while attempting to obtain 1,000 rounds of ammunition from accomplices still at large.
