The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants were pressured to participate in the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration.
In a statement, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the claim as “entirely false and baseless,” calling it part of a deliberate disinformation campaign by the ADC.
He recalled that the ADC had previously circulated a fabricated APC membership slip linking a known terrorist to the party. According to Morka, the massive registration drive instead reflects Nigerians’ enthusiasm for the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Millions of Nigerians have registered and continue to register voluntarily and enthusiastically,” he said. The party extended the registration period from January 31 to February 8, 2026, in response to popular demand.
Morka added, “It is clear that the ADC is intimidated by the phenomenal success of our e-registration exercise. However, that does not justify spreading lies to smear the process.”
He concluded that while the ADC continues to peddle falsehoods, the APC remains focused on “its onward march as Africa’s standard-bearer of digital and democratic innovation
