The institutions affected include Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU).
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that three additional universities have joined the ongoing two-week warning strike.
The institutions now participating in the strike are Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU).
According to the chairmen of the ASUU branches in these universities, members have complied fully with the national directive by abstaining from lecture halls.

Adewale Ositoye, ASUU Chairman at TASUED, confirmed that the union is observing the strike in line with instructions from the national leadership, while his counterpart at FUNAAB, Ola Oyedele, also affirmed that academic staff in his institution have joined the industrial action.
As quoted by The PUNCH, Oyedele said, “I can only confirm that my colleagues in the university have joined the national strike and any further enquiries should be directed to the national body of ASUU.”
Students of FUNAAB expressed disappointment and frustration over the strike, voicing concerns about its potential impact on their academic calendar.

According to a student of FUNAAB, Okoli Benjamin, “strikes usually come with attendant consequences for students, it disrupts the smooth running of the academic session. One might end up spending five years or more for a four-year course.”
“The students are not happy and we sincerely hope and pray that ASUU and the government will resolve their differences amicably and allow normal academic work to continue uninterrupted,” Okoli added.
ASUU had declared a total and comprehensive two-week warning strike across all public universities in Nigeria, citing the Federal Government’s failure to meet its longstanding demands.
The industrial action, which began on October 13, is scheduled to last for two weeks.
