As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Dr. Jelili Amusan, has donated nine campaign buses to the state chapter of the Tinubu National Think-Tank (TNT) to support the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The donation was announced on Sunday during a strategic familiarisation meeting with a high-powered delegation of the Ogun State chapter of TNT, according to a statement issued by Dr. Amusan’s media team.
Dr. Amusan, a former member of the National Assembly and patron of the group, assured the delegation—led by the state interim coordinator, Comrade Olamilekan Sunday Sobowale—that the buses would be handed over on or before the end of February 2026.
The statement described the gesture as a reflection of Dr. Amusan’s unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu and his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dr. Amusan reaffirmed his unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that the success of the President’s administration remains a personal priority. He noted that the donation was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation across Ogun State, adding that the objectives of the Tinubu National Think-Tank align with his progressive ideals.
He further commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting key achievements recorded within a short period in office. These, according to the statement, include durable road construction and rehabilitation projects designed to last over 50 years; the removal of fuel subsidy, which has freed up resources for national development; the introduction of a student loan scheme that has enabled millions of Nigerian students to remain in school; stabilisation of the money market; the resolution of prolonged ASUU strikes; upward reviews of the national minimum wage and NYSC allowance; intensified efforts to combat insecurity; and significant investments in the health sector with world-class equipment.
Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Sobowale, applauded the Tinubu administration for its bold reforms and notable achievements across critical sectors of the economy.
Dr. Amusan emphasised that extending President Tinubu’s administration beyond 2027 to 2031 would be highly beneficial to Nigerians, stating that his support for the President is driven by a desire for sustained national growth, stability and prosperity.
He added that President Tinubu’s leadership has restored hope, strengthened democratic values and repositioned Nigeria on the path of sustainable development.
The delegation, in turn, expressed appreciation to Hon. Dr. Jelili Kayode Amusan for his generosity, visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to progressive governance, describing the donation as a major boost to the organisation’s mission.
