The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three self-confessed killers of late Adeniyi Sanni, a senior aide to Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) representing Ogun West in the National Assembly. The suspects, who are all ex-convicts, were paraded by the Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa.
According to the suspects, they shot late aide to Yayi, Sanni three times and stabbed him in the chest before leaving him in a pool of blood on the Oshodi Apapa expressway. They had been posing as military personnel and were part of a transnational robbery syndicate specializing in stealing unregistered vehicles from unsuspecting motorists. They would then take the stolen vehicles to their gang leader in Benin Republic.
The police recovered three pistols, including a locally made one, military attire, expended and live cartridges, and the Toyota CRV vehicle that was forcefully taken from late Sanni.
