The #JusticeforMohbad protest was organized to demand answers regarding the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of singer Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023.
Ogun Today and SaharaReporters have previously reported Funke Obikoya’s account of her arrest, in which she expressed her frustration at being wrongly detained by the state police command for her participation in the rally. She detailed her experience, revealing that she and her friends were sitting by the roadside when police officers arrived, detained them, and subsequently took them to the police station
Obikoya explained, “I’m just an up-and-coming actress and a model trying to pave the way for myself. They have spoiled my career. They arrested me wrongly and accused me wrongly. They took me to prison and said that my bail was N500,000.” She was granted bail on Monday, and her case was adjourned until November. She also described the difficult conditions she faced while in custody, including eating prison food, performing various tasks, and having to greet numerous people daily.
