A tragic incident occurred in Ojodu Abiodun, in Ogun State, as a building owned by the Ayanshina family collapsed due to a mudslide following heavy rainfall. This unfortunate incident claimed the lives of two sisters from the Ayanshina family.
The victims, 16-year-old Suliyat and her 25-year-old elder sister, Nofisat, were reportedly trapped inside the collapsed building when the heavy rainfall started. Neighbors came to their aid, and it took some time to rescue the sisters who were injured and trapped in the wreckage.

After being rescued, both sisters were rushed to Tomade Hospital in Ojodu Abiodun, which is nearby. Tragically, they were pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
An eyewitness shared that the incident took everyone by surprise, and the community worked together to rescue the victims from the rubble. The family insisted on burying the deceased according to Islamic rites.
The state’s Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident and the family’s request for immediate burial.
