Two people were killed on Saturday when a bus driving against oncoming traffic crashed into a truck along the Ososa stretch of the Sagamu–Benin Expressway.
Speaking by phone on Sunday, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident. He said 21 people were involved in the collision, which included a yellow Toyota Hiace bus (BDG 274YG) and a blue Mercedes-Benz truck (AKD 115YL). Several others suffered varying degrees of injury, though the exact number has not yet been confirmed.
According to Akinbiyi, the bodies of the two victims have been taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital morgue. “The two fatalities and the injured were taken to Ijebu-Ode General Hospital before our team arrived,” he said, adding that both vehicles had been removed from the road and transferred to the Obalende Division of the Nigeria Police Force in Ijebu-Ode.

On November 20, Oguntoday media reported that eight bodies were pulled from the Ososa River after a vehicle veered off the road and plunged into the water. At the time, Akinbiyi noted that the driver’s body had not yet been recovered and blamed the accident on speeding and loss of control.
