Vice President Kashim Shettima announced on Friday that President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the construction of 1,000 houses in several states, including Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue. These houses will come equipped with essential amenities such as schools, clinics, veterinary clinics, and ranches for the Fulani community in Kaduna and Benue states. Vice President Shettima made this revelation during the commissioning of projects completed by the Borno State Government over the past 100 days.
He stated, “President Tinubu has approved the construction of 1,000 houses in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue States with all the ancillary facilities of schools, clinics, veterinary clinics, and ranches for the Fulani community in Kaduna and Benue states. President Tinubu insisted that all the victims must be carried along.”
These housing projects are part of a comprehensive plan by the Tinubu administration to address conflicts in the northern region. Additionally, President Tinubu has allocated N50 billion to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to initiate the Pulaku initiative, a non-kinetic solution to the crisis facing the northwest region.

Vice President Shettima assured that President Tinubu’s developmental initiatives would benefit all parts of the country. He also revealed that the federal government is planning to revitalize wheat production in Nigeria and emphasized President Tinubu’s awareness of the challenges facing Nigerians, expressing confidence that these issues would be addressed.
Mr. Shettima commended the vision and leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, particularly in addressing the welfare of the people. He praised their strong relationship and the positive impact Governor Zulum has had on the state.
During the event, Vice President Shettima commissioned several projects, including the Shuwari II Community School and Healthcare Centre, the Alikaramti Community School, and the Gamboru Liberty Day Secondary School, all within the Maiduguri metropolis.
His visit to Maiduguri also included paying homage to the Shehu of Borno’s Palace, where he was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Abubakar Kyari, and various legislators from National and State Assemblies.
