President Bola Tinubu has appointed Jamiu Abiola as his Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Affairs.
Jamiu Abiola is the son of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, who won the 1993 presidential election that was later canceled by General Ibrahim Babangida.
Before this new role, Jamiu Abiola was the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice-President.
According to a statement on Wednesday from Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government, Abiola’s appointment is effective from November 14, 2024.
The statement also mentioned that his appointment follows the guidelines of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.
The statement added that President Tinubu has asked Jamiu Abiola to work closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and use his experience in his new position.
