Details of the encounter between Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum have surfaced.

Recall that in the wake of the political turmoil that erupted in Rivers State on Sunday night, the PDP governors paid a courtesy visit to the former governor on Wednesday.
During the meeting held in Abuja, Wike reassured the governors of his allegiance to the main opposition party, emphasizing that his presence in the FCT was to support President Bola Tinubu in realizing his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Leading the PDP Governors Forum was its chairman, Senator Bala Muhammed, who expressed gratitude to Tinubu for appointing Wike as the FCT minister.
Wike also commended Tinubu’s efforts to resolve the political crisis in Rivers State, lauding the maturity displayed by the president and the forum in addressing the issues.
Furthermore, he attributed the state’s problems to detractors and vowed not to be swayed by social media propaganda, reaffirming his commitment to doing what is right.

Wike expressed his appreciation for the visit and affirmed his dedication to working toward realizing the president’s agenda for renewing the hope of the citizens.
Senator Mohammed, in his remarks, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bipartisan leadership style for appointing Wike as the FCT Minister, emphasizing the significance of this decision.
He acknowledged Wike’s high standing and contributions to the growth and development of the country and expressed the PDP’s support for his dual role.
Senator Mohammed also noted that the issues in Rivers State, considered a family affair of the PDP, had been resolved by the party, given the state’s economic importance.
The meeting also saw the presence of Governors Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, and Kefas Agbu of Taraba State.
