The Osun State Police Command has arrested three men connected to the suspected ritual killing of a 38-year-old FRSC officer, Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her 12-year-old daughter, Sewa.
The arrested suspects are:
- Fajemirokun Victor (38)
- Gboyega Daramola, also called Abere Ifa (39)
- Sunday James (38)
According to the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, the case started on November 10, 2025, when someone reported at the Ikoyi Police Station that Fajemirokun Victor had been missing since November 2. He was last seen traveling from Osogbo to Ikoyi Prayer Mountain for prayers.
Police searched the area but found no evidence of kidnapping or murder at first. But new information helped them make progress on November 16.
On that day, police arrested Gboyega Daramola (Abere Ifa), an herbalist. He confessed that Victor was his customer. He also confessed that on November 2, Victor brought a woman and her daughter for a money ritual, and both were killed.
Daramola mentioned more people involved, including Sunday James and two others named Kehinde and Idowu.
On November 17, Daramola took police officers to the Esa-Odo Dam, where they found the body of Oluwamayokun. Many parts of her body were missing.
On November 20, police arrested Sunday James in Ekiti State, where he was hiding. He confessed that he killed both the woman and her daughter on the orders of the herbalist.
James then led the police to a bush where they found the body of 12-year-old Sewa. Her body was also mutilated. Both bodies were taken to the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital morgue.
Police said Victor, the person who planned the killings, ran away to Ghana. With the help of INTERPOL, he was arrested there and brought back to Nigeria. He has confessed to the crime.
The Commissioner of Police added that efforts are still ongoing to arrest the two remaining suspects, Kehinde and Idowu. All arrested suspects will be taken to court once investigations are completed.
