Dapo Okubadejo, the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, announced that the State Government has started plans to automate transactions across all government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
This step comes after the successful introduction of systems for billing and payments, land acquisition digitization, automated payment processes, and a Treasury Single Account (TSA), among other platforms.
Okubadejo explained that these financial reforms are designed to attract investors, prevent fraud, and speed up business processes in the state. He mentioned that agencies like the Bureau of Lands and Survey, Internal Revenue Service, and Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology have seen great success with these new systems.
He also said that the government plans to expand these payment platforms to other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, including those for Environment, Industry, Trade, Investment, Health, Transportation, and Agriculture.
Okubadejo stressed the importance of civil servants in making this system successful, as their involvement is key to ensuring its long-term success.
Lukman Buari, CEO of ICMA, speaking on behalf of other payment service providers, praised the state government for offering fair opportunities to service providers and thanked the workers for their role in making these reforms successful. He also promised to continue delivering excellent service.
