In a move aimed at expanding access to renewable energy and strengthening local production, the Ogun State Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Renew Power Limited for the establishment of a 500-megawatt Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Manufacturing Plant in the state.
The agreement, signed earlier this week, marks a significant development in Ogun’s bid to attract sustainable investments and diversify its industrial base. If successfully implemented, the facility could become one of the largest solar component manufacturing plants in Nigeria, supplying both local and regional markets.
