The Ogun State government has officially ended the curfew that was previously imposed on Sagamu town in the aftermath of violent confrontations between rival cult groups last month.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, cited the improved security situation in the troubled town as the basis for this decision to lift the curfew.
Talabi emphasized that Sagamu has returned to a state of normalcy, with security agencies actively investigating the underlying causes of the cult clashes. Governor Dapo Abiodun remains dedicated to eradicating all forms of violence in the state.
He reassured the residents of Sagamu that despite the curfew being lifted, robust security measures are still in place, allowing them to carry out their daily activities without apprehension. The curfew, which restricted human and vehicular movement between 7 pm and 6 am, had been implemented promptly in response to the cult-related incidents.
