The Ogun State Government has started building 200 homes estate to be known as Gateway Aviation Village in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government, for people with low to medium incomes. These houses will be two-bedroom expandable bungalows.
The news of the Gateway Aviation Village was shared by Jagunmolu Omoniyi, the Special Adviser on Housing, through the state government’s communication channel. This housing project aims to support the growing Remo Zone Economic Hub by providing homes for the increasing number of workers in the area.
Omoniyi mentioned that the construction of the estate (Gateway Aviation Village) will complement the state’s investment in the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport and will boost the local economy by providing work for 5,000 artisans and more than 50 service providers at the construction site.
Each unit will be sold to the public for either N8.5 million (unfinished) or N15 million (fully finished), with mortgage options available through the Gateway Mortgage Bank.
The Gateway Aviation Village will come with essential amenities like proper drainage, well-built roads, security measures, lighting, water supply, a playground, healthcare and education facilities, and even a Fire Service Station to serve the growing economic cluster. This project is expected to create livelihood opportunities for over 20,000 citizens, considering the employment impact of engaging 5,000 artisans.
The construction project is set to be finished within six months.
