Ogun State Assembly confirms commissioner nominees, excluding one withdrawn by the governor
Governor Dapo Abiodun withdrew the nomination of Tunde Osunbiyi among the 10 commissioner nominees sent to the Ogun State House of Assembly. The Assembly confirmed the remaining nine nominees without giving a reason for Osunbiyi’s withdrawal.
The approval of the nine nominees came after the Committee of the Whole House, led by Speaker Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, adopted their report. Deputy Speaker Bolanle Ajayi presented the report and moved for its adoption.
The confirmation was done through a voice vote during a session presided over by the Speaker at the Assembly Complex in Abeokuta.
The committee found the nine nominees eligible for the role of Commissioners in Ogun State, as some of them had gone through this process before.
Governor Abiodun has had a total of 17 nominees screened and confirmed by the Assembly. These commissioner-designates are now awaiting the Governor’s swearing-in before they can assume office.
