The appointment of two additional Commissioner-nominees sent to the Ogun State House of Assembly by Governor Dapo Abiodun has been confirmed.
Mrs. Olufemi Ilori and Mr. Jamiu Odetogun, the nominees, appeared before the House on Wednesday for screening.
The confirmation of the nominees, whose names were recently sent to the Assembly by the Governor, came less than 24 hours after they appeared before the lawmakers.
The approval followed the adoption of the report of the Committee of the Whole House, chaired by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo.
The Deputy Speaker, Akeem Balogun, presented the report, after which the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, moved to adopt the report, which was seconded by Hon. Kemi Oduwole.
As a result, the nominees were confirmed by a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by Abdul Bashir Oladunjoye, and approved by voice vote by the entire House.
“The Committee of the Whole House screened and found the nominees to be eligible and suitable to hold the Office of Commissioner in the State, in accordance with the provision of the 1999 Constitution (as amended),” according to the Deputy Speaker’s report.
