The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has officially declared a bye-election for the Councillor position in Ilado, Ward 10 of the Odogbolu Local Government Area. This election is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 26.
The Chairman of OGSIEC, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, made this announcement during a gathering of stakeholders, which included representatives from various political parties, security agencies, and other relevant parties within the Odogbolu LGA.
The need for this bye-election arose due to the unfortunate passing of the former councillor, Olufemi Taiwo, as stated in an announcement made on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Gbemi Onasanya, representing the OGSIEC Chairman, underscored the commission’s unwavering dedication to ensuring an election characterized by fairness, transparency, and credibility. He called upon all political parties and stakeholders to maintain an equitable electoral environment throughout the entire process.
The timetable for this bye-election extends from Thursday, September 28, through Thursday, October 26, 2023.
