The Ogun State Government has shared another set of food palliative to the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State for onward distribution to residents as part of measures to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Femi Ogunbanwo revealed this while speaking with OGIS correspondents in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying the distribution would further ease the plight of people, as well as improve their standard of living that had been negatively affected by the pandemic.
Ogunbanwo disclosed that this is not the first set of food palliatives the government would be sending to the LGAs, noting the decision was an indication that the present administration has interest of the people at heart and would not relent in making life better for them.
“Our dear Governor is always ready and willing to extend a helping hand to the people at all times. He has proven this again, by distributing another set of palliatives, to lessen the hardship caused by the pandemic on the people”, he said.
Speaking later in an interview, officials of Ijebu-North and Ijebu-North East Local Government Councils, Hon. Adebanjo Olatunbosun and Mr. Wasiu Adesina who received the items on behalf of their Councils appreciated the Governor for his support, assuring that the palliatives would be judiciously distributed to reach targeted beneficiaries across their council areas.
