In an interview with Daud Olatunji of the Punch, the PDP senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, Olumide Aderinokun, said, among other things, the Nigerian economy is in a state of emergency.
According to him, the economy is in critical condition and needs urgent rescue. He lamented the current price for a loaf of bread hitting a thousand naira and wondered what it would be before May 2023, when a new government takes the wheel.
Aderinokun was of the opinion that the country needed more than the redesigning of the naira notes to save the economy from collapse. He advised the CBN and the government to adopt effective fiscal policies to get Nigeria out of its present mess.
On security, Aderinokun bemoaned the incessant kidnapping in Ogun Central and wants the Federal Government to adopt community policing. “It is the one who lives in the house who knows where the roof leaks,” he said.
The suspect was arrested by the police yesterday.
