I find the intelligence system to be lacking. How are terrorists able to plan an attack on a security installation, obtain weapons, and get away with it? said the president.

The cult successfully freed their accomplices and more than 600 other prisoners on Tuesday night after storming the medium-security jail with powerful explosives.

Security personnel suffered a fatality, and four bodies of fugitive prisoners were eventually found and identified.

Following his Wednesday visit to the area, Mr. Buhari denounced the act in his customary manner. He cast doubt on the security personnel in Nigeria’s ability.

The president, who left for Dakar, Senegal, soon after his visit, expressed awe at the assailants’ bravery and questioned how easily non-state actors were able to operate there.

In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by his spokeswoman, Garba Shehu, Mr. Buhari demanded a thorough investigation into the sad occurrence.

“How did the prison’s defenses fall short in stopping the attack? How many prisoners were housed there? How many of them are you able to identify? How many employees were on duty for you? How many of them had weapons? On the lookout, did guards stand watch? How did they act? Is the CCTV functional?

I find the intelligence system to be lacking. The president questioned how terrorists could plan an attack, obtain weapons, target a security installation, and escape punishment.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, They earlier reported that over 400 of the inmates, including 64 members of the terrorist group, Boko-Haram, are still at large.

The president’s spokesperson said the government cannot cease operations as a result of the attack in response to many Nigerians who felt that the president should have postponed his planned trip to Senegal as a show of sympathy.

“The Presidency would like to take this occasion to respond to the growing criticism of the President’s trip to Dakar, Senegal, and to emphasize that governments continue to function even in the face of terrorist threats.

No responsible government in the world will permit the terrorists to take control, according to Mr. Shehu, thus canceling the trip to Senegal would be a mistake.
