Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has made a significant move in her football career by leaving FC Barcelona Femini to join the new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, Bay FC, in the United States. Oshoala, a six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, has signed a two-year deal with Bay FC, which includes an option to extend the contract by one year until 2027. The transfer involved a deal with FC Barcelona Femení of Liga F in Spain, with a transfer fee facilitating the move.

The statement from Bay FC reads, “Following the transfer, the forward was signed to a contract through the 2026 season with an option for the 2027 campaign. She will join the team and be added to the roster pending the receipt of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate. Oshoala will occupy an international roster spot.”
