Morocco Makes History, Beats Portugal 1-0, Qualifies For World Cup Semi-final

Morocco became the first African and Arab country to reach the World Cup semi-finals after defeating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.

Their victory on Saturday at Doha’s Al Thumama Stadium was celebrated throughout the Arab world, with Qatar’s hosting of the tournament providing a home atmosphere for teams from the Middle East and North Africa.

They will now face either England or France in the semi-finals on December 14.
