It’s Official. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Dapo Abiodun winner of 2023 governorship election in Ogun State.

Governor Dapo Abiodun declared winner of Ogun 2023 Governorship Election.

In a closely contested election, Abiodun, the current governor, emerged victorious by securing 276,298 votes, defeating Ladi Adebutu from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who came second with 262,383 votes. Biyi Otegbeye from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came in third place with 94,754 votes.

Abiodun’s margin of victory over Adebutu was a narrow 13,915 votes.

Despite receiving support from former Ogun governor Ibikunle Amosun, the ADC’s candidate, Otegbeye, was unable to gain significant traction in the election.

See results of the election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) below.
