Eminent Nigerians across the country on Friday, including the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, bade farewell to the deceased father of the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, Most Reverend Abraham Adebola Daniel.
At the farewell service held at Abrahams Taber-nacle in Sagamu, the diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Communion (Remo Diocese), Right Reverend (Dr) Olusina Fape, described death as a common denominator and debt that every mortal must pay, irrespective of status, colour, sex and age.
Among the dignitaries were the representative of the Vice- President, Architect Namadi Sambo, Senator Isaiah Balat, Yeye Oodua, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, represented by his daughter, Ambassador (Dr) Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu; former governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in South West states, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola and his wife,Omolola; Mr. Segun Oni, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, deputy governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Alli Olanusi and Otunba Subomi Balogun.
Others are former Chief of General Staff, Lt. General Oladipo Diya; former military governor of Old Western State, General Adeyinka Adebayo, former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and his wife, Mutiat; former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Sarafadeen Ishola; leader of Afenifere, Pa. Reuben Fasoranti; representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief (Dr) Olufemi Olaifa; Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, Chief Wale Babalakin, former deputy governor of Lagos State, Mr. Femi Pedro, and former military governors of Ogun State.
The cleric, while delivering a sermon on the theme “ Life Goes Beyond The Grave” urged all mankind to live glorious life worthy of emulation.
