Accompanied by Governor Dapo Abiodun and a contingent of other government officials, the group of ministers embarked on a visit to the community facing severe challenges.
Governor Abiodun’s declaration of a state of emergency in the community earlier this week was prompted by the displacement of numerous residents as a result of extensive flooding.
During their address to the community members yesterday, the ministers sought to provide reassurance by affirming their commitment to implementing a long-term and sustainable solution to the pervasive issue of flooding that has been causing distress in the Isheri community.
Furthermore, Minister Salako specifically highlighted that comprehensive plans were already in progress, with the objective of identifying a lasting and effective resolution to the recurrent and troublesome flooding predicaments that have plagued the Isheri community.
In addressing the broader context of climate change, the minister acknowledged the undeniable global impact it has caused and emphasized that while the past effects may be irreversible, it was paramount for residents to embrace a heightened sense of environmental responsibility in order to mitigate future challenges.
