Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State, has denied allegations of having fake professors based on a viral list, purportedly from the National Universities Commission (NUC), which included four of its staff.
Ms ChiChi Ononiwu, the Head of the Communication Unit, clarified that the mentioned names were not part of the university’s payroll.
She stressed the university’s rigorous recruitment processes and high standards for appointments and promotions, affirming the commitment to appointing only qualified individuals as professors. Ononiwu urged stakeholders to dismiss the misinformation and insisted on setting the record straight.
