Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has spoken about being involved with married women in the early stage of his music career, saying the experiences later made him warn younger artistes against such relationships.
Brymo made the disclosure on Tuesday during an episode of the NotJustOk podcast on YouTube, where he reflected on his past relationships and the lessons he said came with them.
The singer said his rise to fame after one of his breakout songs drew the attention of several older women, some of whom were married but claimed they were no longer living with their husbands.
He said those encounters eventually shaped his view and made him conclude that younger artistes should avoid affairs with married women.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short. They would tell me they were separated from their husbands,” he said.

Brymo also recalled an encounter with one of the women, who asked him to perform at her sister’s wedding and later invited him to her family house to entertain guests.
He said he was willing to go until she told him her husband would also be there.
“She said, ‘Our baba will be there.’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband.’
“As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out,” he added.
The singer said the incident brought back memories of another moment he claimed happened in 2019 involving music star 2Baba and his then-wife, Annie Idibia.
Brymo alleged that the exchange happened at an office in Lekki Phase 1, where 2Baba asked Annie in his presence if she had ever had a sexual relationship with him.
“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f*** Brymo?’
“I will never forget it. I am wicked, you people don’t know me.”
