Governor elected under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party are scheduled to convene today to meet with Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The PUNCH has reported that an attempt by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the state’s governor, Siminalayi Fubara, resulted in unrest within the state on Monday. The governor’s loyal supporters gathered at the assembly complex to protest against this impeachment endeavor.

The PDP Governors’ Forum, led by Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, has issued a commendation to President Bola Tinubu for his involvement in addressing the political crisis. This acknowledgment was conveyed in a statement by the forum’s Director-General, Cyril Maduabum, on Wednesday.
The decision to visit Nyesom Wike for the purpose of reconciliation and mediation was made during the forum’s Tuesday meeting. The Chairman of the Forum, Bala Mohammed, has requested fellow governors to assemble at his residence, located at No. 1 Miriam Aloma Muktar Street, Asokoro, which is opposite the Rivers State Governors Lodge, at 10:45 am, to accompany him on the visit.
The visit is slated to take place at the office of the Federal Capital Territory Minister and is scheduled for 11 am.
