Veteran Yoruba actress, Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, has dismissed the long-standing claim that late actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, also popularly known as Baba Agbako, was the father of Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, saying the two were not biologically related.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actress described the rumour as false and explained how she believes it started.
According to Iya Rainbow, Pasuma’s late mother worked as an actress under Baba Agbako during her time in the Yoruba movie industry, which may have led some people to assume there was a family connection.
She also recalled that Pasuma was already a grown young man before his mother introduced him to members of the entertainment industry.
“I am always surprised whenever I hear people calling the late Baba Agbako as Pasuma Wonder’s father. Lots of people just choose to say nonsense because how are they related? Late Pasuma Wonder’s mother used to be an actress just like me. Everybody in our industry can testify to it, and she was under Baba Agbako then.

“Pasuma Wonder was already a grown-up boy before his mother brought him to our industry. When Pasuma became popular, he chose not to abandon all of us that were close to his mother, including me.
“Pasuma Wonder is a very good son; I pray always for him that he wouldn’t kpai young; he will live long in good health and sound mind in Jesus Name. I love Pasuma Wonder so much and may God bless him abundantly.”
The veteran actress also praised the Fuji singer for remaining close to people who shared a relationship with his late mother.
She said Pasuma has continued to show respect and loyalty to those who were part of his mother’s life, adding that he has not forgotten them despite his success.
