Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Branch, Dr Kazeem Rufai, is dead, union officials said in a news release.
The news release read, “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah, the University Management hereby announces the passing away of the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), TASUED Branch, Dr Kazeem Rufai.”
According to the news release, “the late ASUU Chairman died on the evening of March 15th, 2023, in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where he was receiving medical care after a road accident.”
This evening, Thursday, March 16th, 2023, the late scholar was buried according to Islamic customs. A brief prayer was held at his home in Irewon before he was laid to rest, in accordance with Muslim traditions, in Eruwon, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
Late Dr Rufai was an Associate Professor of Computer Science with the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ijebu Ode.
