Hon. Abdel Majid Segun Adekoya, current Deputy Minority Whip and member of the House of Representatives representing Ijebu-North/East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency of Ogun State, has failed in his bid to represent the constituency again.
Adekoya, popularly known as “Attacker” who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, lost to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Adegbesan Joseph.
Announcing the results of the keenly election, the Returning Officer, Adeyemi Bamgbose, said Adekoya polled 25,450 votes while the APC candidate garnered 35,708 votes.
Meanwhile, a three-time governorship candidate in the state, Gboyega Isiaka aka GNI, has been declared winner of the Egbado-North and Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency election.
GNI was the governorship candidate of the People’s Party in 2011, 2015, and African Democratic Congress in 2019, but failed in his bid to become the governor of the state.
But, in 2023, Isiaka was given the APC ticket for the House of Representatives seat and was declared the winner of the election held on Sunday.
