Adamawa North senator, Elisha Abbo, who was ousted by the Court of Appeal on Monday, claims that Senate President Godswill Akpabio orchestrated his dismissal.
During a press conference at his Abuja residence on Monday, a few hours after the Court of Appeal in Abuja invalidated his win in the February 25th election, Mr. Abbo asserted that four other senators, who resisted Mr. Akpabio’s bid for the Senate presidency, would also lose their seats through court rulings.
Following the court’s ruling, which declared Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected lawmaker for Adamawa North senatorial district, Mr. Abbo disclosed the names of senators whose victories he claimed would be nullified. Among them was Orji Kalu, the senator representing Abia North.
Notably, Mr. Abbo did not specify the identities of the remaining three senators whose removal from the Senate he predicted due to their alleged opposition to Mr. Akpabio’s ambition for the Senate presidency.
