Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State, has promised to repair one side of the 32km Sango-Ota-Ijoko and Olambe-Akute-Alagbole roads in the state’s Ado-Odo Ota and Ifo Local Government Areas by December.
The governor assured residents that his administration would repair one side of the 32km road’s existing dualised section by December.
Abiodun, who made the promise during a visit to the area, praised residents for their patience despite their daily harrowing commute on the bad road.
Though the Ota/Sango Abeokuta Road belongs to the Federal Government, the governor stated, “the sense of urgency attached to the road was born out of the desire to ensure that people who have been hitherto neglected for years in the area feel the impact of government during my administration.”
“Between now and December, one lane of the 32km road from Sango-Ota through Ijoko to Alagbole will be completed to ensure that motorists and other road users who ply the road daily do so without the stress that has been their lot for years.”
He directed the road contractor to ensure that the December deadline for phases 1 and 6 of the project is met.
