President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed concerns over his health, declaring that he is fit, sound and ready to resume work following his return to Nigeria from a working vacation in London and Paris, France.
Speaking with journalists shortly after arriving at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday, President Tinubu dismissed concerns over his health as politically driven speculation, saying his return to the country should put the rumours to rest.
“Ready to kick, ready to work, there is nothing wrong…we’ll rumour will always be emanating from politics, but the fact remains I’m here, healthy and sound and ready to go,” the President said.

Asked about his vacation, President Tinubu said he enjoyed the period, which began in London before he proceeded to Paris, France.

“I enjoyed myself,” he said.
Speaking on the President’s arrival, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, who was among senior government officials and political leaders who received the President at the airport, said he expected Tinubu’s period of rest to translate into increased activity by the administration.
“It is incredibly nice to have him after one month away, and we believe that the days he has spent resting will translate into more action this time around.
“We believe that he will come with renewed vigour, a renewed hope to continue serving the good people of Nigeria,” Abbas said.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday evening, bringing to an end about four weeks away from the country.
He was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, among other dignitaries.
President Tinubu departed Nigeria on August 30 for London to begin his working vacation before proceeding to Paris, where he undertook official engagements, including meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.
The President returned through Lagos ahead of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the premiere of a movie honouring the late Chief MKO Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Lagos.
