Agbele-Asa, a border community in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, has installed Rahmon Ajibade Abisekan as the Alagbele of Agbele-Asa Kingdom.
The installation, held last Wednesday, at the Local Government Primary School field in Asa, marked the community’s decades-long quest for traditional and administrative recognition.
The people of the community described the development as a milestone capable of opening the door to infrastructure and socio-economic development.
The staff of office and instrument of appointment were presented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr Rotimi-Olu Akinlesi, who represented the commissioner of the ministry, Ganiyu Hamzat.
Speaking, Otunba Ephraim Lana Akintan, a community leader, described the installation as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
He commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving the traditional stool, saying the recognition of Oba Abisekan has given him a sense of accomplishment.
Chief Ibrahim Egungbohun, chairman of IBD Impex Quarry Limited, also expressed appreciation to the governor, describing his administration as a listening government.
He said the installation was a major leap for Yewaland, Ketuland and Ogun State as a whole, and expressed confidence that the new monarch will drive development in the community.

The lawmaker representing Yewa North II state constituency in the House of Assembly, Honourable Haruna Egungbohun, urged residents to support the candidacy of Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He linked the community’s support for the ruling party to government interventions, and said voting for Adeola will secure the rehabilitation of local roads in the area.
The Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by the Olu of Imasai, Oba Lukmon Olalekan Kuoye, welcomed Oba Abisekan into the council of Yewa traditional rulers.
He charged the new monarch to unite his people and promote peace and security, which he described as essential foundations for sustainable development.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Abisekan described his ascension as a call to service and pledged to promote peace, unity and growth in Agbele-Asa community.
He thanked Governor Abiodun for validating the choice of the people and promised to work with the government to attract infrastructure, strengthen security and create economic opportunities.
The monarch appealed to his subjects to support him so as to build a prosperous kingdom, stressing that collective effort will transform the community.
